Doll give away winner announced and LOTS of art to share!

I decided to announce the winner of my doll giveaway a day early as I will be out and about tomorrow and may not get time to blog.

Thank you SO much to every one that took part in my giveaway. I was so thrilled to see so many comments and pop over to visit new blogs. It is always nice to know who is reading my blog and even lovelier to know that people may find inspiration here. I was so pleased to read that some of you have planned to do your own give away too. Bless you!

Without further ado....ta dah.....the winner is...

I am sure that Veronica will be very happy in her new home Janet. And she will be winging her way to you in the next couple of days. Bringing some Australian sunshine with her (hopefully!).

I have been showered with lovely art over the last week and it will take me a couple of posts to catch up! Here is some of the art from the heart I have received.

Yesterday I spent the day with my friend Jacky and we had a lovely time together. Oohing and aahing over the lovely art we have received and talking about the creative projects we are involved in. Did our usual fabric shopping and went out for a yummy lunch (I had pork chops with apple chutney on a bed of potato mash and green beans.......mmm). And afterwards we went back to her house to continue chatting and catching up.

I had admired this gorgeous little doll on Jacky's blog and squealed when Jacky gave her to me yesterday! Isn't she adorable? Her name is Wendy and she is a little bundle of love. Made by a very special friend. I particularly like her little curved cap with the button hanging off it! Recently I did a swap with a lovely lady called Shey I met on Flickr. And she sent me a beautiful Dotee doll she made made for me.
And made this beautiful bird to accompany her Dotee doll on her trip to Australia.
My darling friend Dawnie sent me a surprise package of love this week which brought happy tears to my eyes. On a day I was really struggling.

This little pottery bird made my heart sing! I promptly named him Sylvester. Don't you feel happy just looking at him? She also sent me this stash of goodies...which I have already starting playing with (whooo hooo).
This gorgeous icicle doll was amongst them. Exquisite art as always. Dawnie has such a way with colors.
Inga from Canada sent me this gorgeous Dotee doll. I love the simplicity of her design and her beautiful face. Inga draws her own faces and sent me a batch of them with her Dotee doll and heaps of fabric. Which she told me was to help feed my fabric addiction....and it has!
Recently I signed up to take part in a fabric book round robin with 9 other women from different countries. We each had to make front and back pages and a page to go inside the book in our chosen theme and colors.

Each month someone new does a page (front and back) in our fabric book and then sends it on to the next person. Eventually we will have worked in 9 other books and receive our own book back full of wonderful fabric art.

To say I was daunted by the project would be an understatement but I decided to have fun and go with my own style. The theme of this project is Hidden Treasures so people will be doing all sorts of special things.

Not one to do things by halves *grin* I have made a big bulky book ready to be filled to the brim with art! I took this photo to give you an idea of how big it is! Here is a photo of my front page.
Inside of the front page.
A house' page' I made out of fabric.
My 'hidden' treasure inside my little house's front door.
The back of him! I always wanted to use this special house shaped button and was pleased to find the perfect spot for it!
This is the inside of my back page.
And a close up of the little doll I made to put inside.
I have decided to make my own doll and sell it through my Etsy shop. A while back I dabbled with the idea of selling Dotee dolls but do not believe they are meant to be sold. Feel they meant to be traded or given as gifts and keep that Dotee doll love going around the world!

Am very excited about having my own design . I won't be doing any trades with this design so the only way people will be able to own one of these dolls is through my Etsy store. Feel it is time for me to do this and start earning some money from some of my art. After a lot of encouragement from friends - in particular Jacky and Holly(big smooch to the both of you).

Jacky and I worked on a design yesterday and I will share a photo of my first doll next post! I think this doll will make you smile.

Hope you are enjoying your weekend everyone. I am about to go for a walk to buy my Sunday paper(and maybe a ice cream as a treat). Then I plan to drink a cup of Chai Latte as I read it in my garden with the kitties by my side. An afternoon of art awaits me and then a walk down by the ocean. It's a holiday weekend here in Victoria , Australia so I have tomorrow off as well (yipeee).
P.S I forgot to load a full length photo of the collage my friend Holly send me recently but promise I will do so next post.

OMG!!! I can't believe I'm the lucky one! Veronica will indeed have a good home here with me and her other Dotee doll sister. I'll give her a special place of her own.

All your gifts are beautiful. It must be so exciting to get your mail knowing it will be full of good stuff.

Love the fabric book and the little house is so cute. The house button is perfect.

I'm so glad you'll be selling some of your art. It's too special not to do that. And thank you again, for my beautiful Veronica! I love her!!!!

Can't wait to see what the doll you'll be selling will look like. You could also think about selling blanks so people could decorate their own. You could put the basic doll together with a face and they could add their own touches too, a collaborative doll for those who just have to do their own thing!
